Transportation/Transporte

The Peach District is blessed with a high degree of walkability. The main intersection of King & Worthington scores an 83 out of 100 according to Walk Score while those living near King & High across from Weinland Park’s Kroger get a whopping 94 out of 100. No matter where you reside you’re only a short stroll, skip, or hop from a major grocery store, restaurants, bars, salons, etc, the list goes on. These trips become even shorter by bike.

The Peach District possesses one of the best bike-boulevard systems in the city (these streets are shown as green on the front page’s map) making everything within the neighborhood available in just a minute or two and it’s a tranquil, comfy ride to the neighboring Short North, Victorian Village, and OSU. The number of bikes one sees all over the neighborhood attests to the fact that we are the Cycling Capital of Columbus. The only thing missing is signage, so feel free to get creative and put up your own.

As if that weren’t enough we are easily accessible to the most covenient COTA bus route, the good ole #2. Whether you want to head north to Olde North Columbus, Clintonville, or even Worthington or south to Downtown, the bus is a great option, except for more limited hours on Sundays.

As for cars, they’ll just gather dust once you discover the above. The Peach District Neighborhood Association promotes intellectually and environmentally sound modes of transportation.

My corner of The Peach District (5th and High) gets a 95 walkability. I am taking it easy.
